DEAR HOWARD,
My letter to the DNC:
Since Barack Obama has seen fit to endorse the worst excesses of the Bush Administration with his support of warrentless spying on Americans via the Protect AT&T Act, I cannot in good conscience continue to donate to his campaign through the DNC. I will direct my future contributions to electing Better Democrats. Sadly, this will have to be done outside the party infrastructure, as the DC powerbase appears to be hopelessly corrupted by lobbyist money.
Please confirm that my monthly donation to the DNC will end as soon as is practicable.
Sincerely,
Daryl Cobranchi
ID 094111641
I have no illusion that my piddling little donation or my email ending the same will have any effect on what the campaign does. But throwing away the Constitution one piece at a time is not what I signed up for.

Obama is leaving me feeling slapped around- first by his about face on public financing for the campaign, and now this. I can’t think of words to describe how angry I am…. I am reminded of how outraged I was by John Kerry’s concession speech 4 years ago- and totally disgusted. |

I don’t think the public financing issue is legit. He promised to pursue an agreement with McCain. But McCain is ALREADY breaking the campaign finance law that bears his name. Obama concluded that there was no room for an agreement. I think he’s right. |

I just don’t know why people feel like their actions make no difference. In math class I learned that 1+1+1+1….. as many as you want. But if you pretend all 1’s round down to 0’s, you have nothing. Vote, contribute, activate your full, rightful 1-ness. 🙂 |
