QOTD

After reading this, Jefferson came to mind. Some good quotes:

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.

Every generation needs a new revolution.

Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security.

I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Here’s one that came to my mind reading these:

(Probably more of a paraphrase than a quote, though I believe it to be fairly close to the original…)

“Every revolution evaporates, leaving behind the slime of another bureaucracy.”

So, does this mean your happy with today’s SCOTUS ruling that the 2nd amendment rights are individual rights, and the DC ban is unconstitutional?

Here’s a quote, from a fortune cookie I think: “A few may fear only government but most fear those who fire guns up in the air too.”
