PUT DOWN THE CREDIT CARD AND BACK AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD
Happy Buy Nothing Day. Stop shopping. It’s good for the soul.

Done. 🙂 But I have to go buy milk today. And here’s a way to keep that shopping impulse in check. Make a list of the children in your family — the only ones, you have already announced, who will be getting any presents, and even then, not much. You make the list and multiply by $20. Then you freak out when you realize that’s $300! Ack. Well, what can you get for $10? Then you put the list down and go to the bathroom. Don’t be shocked now. It happens. 🙂 That’s when you find out that both toilets are overflowing and you have a morning ahead of you of having the septic tank pumped out and disinfecting both bathrooms. And all at the lovely cost of $300. The shopping list looks much less interesting now. Nance |
